Check out 13 of our favorite summer reads below and be sure to add them to your list today!

If you like Taylor Jenkins Reid…
Daisy Jones and The Six and 7 Husbands of Evelyn Hugo are two of TJR’s most well-known novels. She loves to take you back in history with the setting of her books ranging from the 1950s to present day. Daisy Jones and The Six covers the lives of an iconic rock group, their lead singer and the story behind the band’s infamous breakup. This novel was praised by Reese Witherspoon’s and featured as one of her Sunshine Book Club picks.

The 7 Husbands of Evelyn Hugo dives into the life of a Hollywood movie icon (Hugo) who is finally ready to share her story to a present-day reporter, Monique Grant. Why Monique after all these years of declining interviews? You’ll have to read to find out!

Malibu Rising is Taylor Jenkins Reid’s most recent novel that was released earlier this summer. You don’t have to read the others to be able to follow along, but this book features a certain someone from Evelyn Hugo’s past. In this read, four famous siblings throw a party that changes their lives over the course of twenty-four hours.

If you like Elin Hilderbrand…

Elin Hilderbrand is known for her summertime, beach or poolside reads! All of her books take place near the water with her favorite setting being Nantucket Island, where she resides. 28 Summers is based off the classic film, Same Time Next Year. This novel outlines the romance of a one-weekend-per-year affair and explores the ways this relationship affects their daily lives.

The Perfect Couple is a Hilderbrand favorite. This book is more of a mystery/thriller that also involves romantic twists between each unique couple. A body is found in the harbour hours before a long-awaited wedding ceremony and everyone in the wedding party is a suspect. Who did it? You’ll have to hang on until the very end to find out.

If you like Colleen Hoover…

Colleen Hoover is known for her steamy romance novels, however Verity is one of the exceptions. Named one of Amazon’s Top 100 Bestsellers, Verity does not disappoint. This thriller/romantic suspense novel tells the story of Lowen Ashleigh, a struggling author, who gets the break of a lifetime – the opportunity to finish the remaining books in a series by Verity Crawford, a successful author who was injured and now unable to complete them. This creepy, page-turner is known as one of Colleen Hoover’s best and definitely something you could finish in one sitting.

It Ends With Us is another CoHo fan favorite. This novel proves the point that sometimes it is the ones we love that hurt us the most. The story of Lily, Ryle and Atlas is heartbreaking but will keep you hooked nonetheless. Another quick, captivating read!

If you like thrillers…

Who doesn’t love a thriller? The four books listed below are some of the best. All 5 stars!

  • Little Secrets, Jennifer Hillier
  • Stillhouse Lake, Rachel Caine
  • The Silent Patient, Alex Michaelides
  • The One, John Marrs

Little Secrets and The Silent Patient are great options if you’re interested in gripping novels. Both of these books have major unexpected twists. Stillhouse Lake is the first of a five-book series by Rachel Caine. What would you do if you discovered your husband is a serial killer? Read this series to find out how Gina goes to Gwen and completely uproots her average life overnight. The One by John Marrs is another great psychological thriller. You may recognize the title from Netflix – this novel is also a series! If you’ve already watched the series don’t worry, the plot is the same but the characters are different. The One tells the story of Match Your DNA, a dating company that has the ability to match you to your soulmate with a simple DNA test. This book outlines five different matched couples and the not-so-happily ever afters that came from them.

Other great reads…

Their romance takes flight and Soléne must face the reality of how this relationship affects the ones she loves most.

When Life Gives You LuluLemons is the perfect beach or pool read. This book is part three of the famed novel, The Devil Wears Prada. If you remember Emily Charlton, you are in for a treat!
