With the new season quickly approaching, Dallasites are getting excited about cooler weather. If you’re from Texas you know we enjoy the summertime heat almost yearlong. If you’re a northern transplant, you probably miss seeing the leaves change colors for the fall. This season is the best time of the year to capture photos. Whether they are for your personal Instagram or family portraits, fall is the loveliest time to shoot outdoors.
Grab your heavier sweaters, warm coats, and a pumpkin spice latte to-go! We are about to take you through some of our favorite seasonal photoshoot locations in Dallas.
Fort Worth Japanese Garden
Although there is an admission fee to the Japanese Garden at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden, it is worth every penny! You truly get to experience fall with a variety of different trees that change colors inside this garden. The garden also consists of many scenic locations and water features. You can get creative with your photoshoots here with fun family photo sessions or even the perfect fall engagement pictures!
Cedar Ridge Preserve
Located just outside of Dallas city limits is Cedar Ridge Preserve. The preserve is perfect for hikes, camping, and nature photography! The colors are not as vibrant as some gardens, however, there are beautiful trees, grasses, wildflowers, and views for all.
Arbor Hills Nature Preserve
If you live in Dallas, then you’re in luck! Located in Plano, this gem isn’t far from home at all! Arbor Hills is a great place for hikes, picnics, Instagram pictures and even photoshoots for all occasions. Grab a few pumpkins for props and you should be good to go for the perfect fall photo session.
Blase Family Farm
Rockwall is home to the Blase Family Farm. Each year the farm hosts a pumpkin patch beginning in late September and running through early November. Pumpkins and festive photos go hand in hand! Blase Family Farm is not only perfect for an Instagram shot but also great for group activities and fun for all ages.
Dallas Arboretum
Your trip won’t be complete without a stop at the Dallas Arboretum. Here you’ll not only find beautiful leaves changing colors and many spots for festive photography but another large display of pumpkins! The Art of the Pumpkin requires reservations, but it is definitely worth it!
The best time to watch the season change is from the end of November to mid-December, so be sure to explore these DFW photo locations then. These are just a few of the Instagram-worthy gems our team enjoys during fall. We hope you love them too!
