Power Picks: Dallas’ Best Burgers

Everything is bigger and better in Texas, including the burgers! Dallas’ food scene is constantly expanding with many American restaurants serving up some form of the traditional hamburger. Our team put together a list of some of our favorites.

Amy – TruFire

When you want to indulge in a burger and feel better about doing so, there is nothing like the TruFire turkey burger.  Manchego cheese and a roasted mushroom blend on top make this burger worth the Tollway traffic.

Julia – Keller’s Drive In

A cheeseburger from Keller’s is a Dallas staple, if you haven’t been you need to go ASAP! Reasonably priced and delicious, Keller’s cheeseburgers hit the spot if you are looking for a quick bite. At the old school drive in, the waiters come to you – either eat there in the lot or take it to go, but do not forget to bring cash! Oh grab a delicious milkshake while you’re at it.

Anna – Hopdoddy Burger Bar

I’m a huge fan of Hopdoddy’s Magic Shroom burger, which combines my two favorites – goat cheese and mushrooms! The Magic Shroom also features basil pesto, lettuce, tomato and onion. I like to add pickle and a side of truffle fries.

Kortni – Katy Trail Ice House

One of the best burgers I’ve ever had is Katy Trail Ice House’s ½ lb. cheeseburger. The patties are perfectly cooked all the way through and thin, just like I like them! Not to mention, Ice House also serves some of the best cheese fries EVER. I also highly recommend a side of the homemade ranch.

Catherine – Hudson House

Hudson House is known for martinis and oysters…but The Cheeseburger is a hidden gem that every Dallasite must try! Thin patties stacked with American cheese, pickles, minced onions and Hudson sauce leaves your mouth salivating for one more bite. I highly recommend ordering a side of fries with multiple dipping sauces along with a Dirty Martini.

Catie – Eureka

One of my favorite burgers is the Frisco Fig Burger from Eureka! It is the perfect combination of tangy and sweet with fig marmalade and goat cheese, a hearty burger patty and bacon to top it all off. Everything that comes out of their kitchen is always fresh!

Caroline – Liberty Burger

Nothing drives me to a restaurant faster than specialty menu items, and Liberty Burger is the king of innovative specialty burgers. I highly recommend the Wild West burger which combines a juicy grilled burger patty with cheddar cheese, bacon and chipotle bbq sauce. If you want to really experience Liberty Burger, no order is complete without shoe-string fries and a nutella and graham cracker milkshake!

April – Lankford Grocery & Market (Houston)

Around since 1939, Lankford Grocery Market is a Houston institution! One bite, and you’ll know why! You can’t go wrong with a Lankford “Old Fashion Burger,” which is my favorite! All the way with cheese, please! But if you’re looking for a little burger adventure, you can choose everything from a Frito Pie Burger to what’s called a Grim Burger, which comes complete with Mac & Cheese, jalapenos, bacon and a sunny side up fried egg! Don’t forget the fries!
